Story
, like any other
business-person, I was used to crossing continents, doing
deals. It is different today. I was diagnosed with Cancer
of the Stomach.
As a professional, tuned to managing and taking
decisions, when it came to self all I could do was total surrender
to God and complete faith in my doctors. God has been kind.
Doctors and para-medics treating me are excellent professionals
and compassionate human beings. I have complete remission
and am back to normal life.
During, last 18 months of struggle,
emotional and physical stress, one thing which I had in plenty,
was time. I also had opportunity to think.
When one is lying in bed, for long and long durations, one
gets all types of ideas, some good - some not good, some workable
- some not. Lying under the radiation machine my thoughts
used to turn to others who like me were going thro’
the same phase.
Although the situation was not of my choosing,
the least I could do was to observe and to think. In such
situation, one easily becomes a critique and philospher. And
that is how I got the reason to do this venture.
Encouragement
came from many especially from my son, Rahul. I started putting
myself into the shoes of other patients. I felt same emotions,
started looking at doctors and medical staff as human beings
who normally see more sufferings than most of us.
Like any
other profession, found that, they too were excellent, good
and not good at various parameters, among them. I had very
clear objective. I wanted to live healthy and get the best
medical care. For this I was ready to travel to any part of
the world - was advised by those who are in the know of things
that I am going to get same or better treatment in India at
fraction of cost what I would spend in western part of the
world. And yes, time has shown this to be true.
I have done it. I have won the battle. May be there is a
war still ahead. I am confident that I will win that too.
I am offering you the same winning formula. Some call it as
Medical Tourism. I call it as . We mean every word
